Sandra's Floral Thoughts

Summertime and Floral Thoughts

Welcome to summertime in the garden.

The flowers I love during the Summer months have echoes of blue skies, sunshine, sandy beaches and the sea.

The relaxing effect of blue and white delphiniums planted in the garden and Sunflowers with their cheery bright yellow giant flowers always make me happy.

I have to include roses, especially the heavenly strongly scented ones. In my own garden I like to grow the roses which have special significance to me and my family, events that have taken place in our lives and special occasions.

To be sitting on the patio in a comfy chair with my husband on a warm evening, a glass of wine in my hand relaxing while taking in the beauty of the garden seems a perfect end to the working day.

Why not take a look at our summer flower gallery.

The Beauty of Springtime

When we welcome Spring into our gardens at long last after a cold Winter, it is not just the colourful flowers we love it’s the whole feeling that we are going forward to more enjoyable times that we can spend in the garden, also the lighter nights and all that nature has to offer us including nesting birds and animals which may visit us on a regular basis.

Included in this brief piece are a selection of photographs taken in and around the Purton/Swindon area which show Springtime as it unfolds around us.

Thanks to my Son Chris for his brilliant talent with a camera.

A Florist's view of Eden

Having a few days away last week , My Husband and I visited The Eden Project in Cornwall. Such a wonderful experience seeing the Biomes with the fantastic planting and upkeep of the tropical foliage and flowers. We really felt that we had been taken off to another Country, in which was so very different to our own.

So many flowers and foliage used in floristry could be seen growing, the ideas and inspiration I found from them was immense.

Walking around the landscaped floral gardens was also very beautiful, I understand that each season the planting changes so that it never stays the same.

So we are given the chance to view and enjoy our Country as it changes throughout the year.

Please take a little while to enjoy some photographs taken by our Son and his partner when they have visited, just click here to visit the gallery.
